By the instruction of Mr. E.B. Lyulin, First Deputy of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Governor, the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship held an in-place meeting at the RUMO Plant dedicated to the development of RUMO’s cooperative ties with the region’s vessel operator companies Volga Shipping JSC, Vodokhod JSC, GAMA Group, and the Upstream Volga Directorate for the Russian River Register.
RUMO JSC is a domestic manufacturer, the successor of and heir to RUMO OJSC Plant (previously, Engine of the Revolution), which used to be a company that had specialized in the development, production and delivery of ship internal combustion engines, and generator sets based thereon, for over 70 years.
RUMO JSC has now received a Russian River Register Qualification Certificate and is licensed to carry out major overhauls of 36/45 engines either in a vessel hull or in factory conditions and to repair used crankshafts and fabricate new ones for ship engines.
In the course of the meeting, RUMO JSC’s top management delivered a presentation about the company’s technical and manufacturing capabilities; the shipping companies discussed issues they face in relation to the operation of and service life extension for ship engines made by RUMO and Engine of the Revolution; fields of further cooperation were negotiated.
